Production Assistant with Six Word Productions
(Brooklyn, NY - USA New York/New Jersey), Immediately for 20. Writer/director T.G. Wilkinson and Six Word Productions are currently shooting a fine art photography project of staged narrative scenes. The photo series tells several interlocking short stories using still images ordered in a specific sequence. The same set of characters weave in and out of the pictures over the course of several dozen still images, slowly creating the sense of a whole world beyond the frame. The story functions like reading a graphic novel or comic, but with the standalone quality and emotional resonance of a painting you'd see in a museum, and with the production involved in putting together several small movie shoots with costumes, sets, lights, locations, cameras, and makeup. You can see some of the images we've shot so far and behind the scenes material from the making of the project as well as other images from our last project a year and a half ago here: tgwilkinson.com We are looking for a Production Assistant to come on part-time to work closely with the photographer/director in an extremely collaborative work environment. In pre-production the Production Assistant will help source set dressing for the set designers and stand in for blocking tests with the director to help brainstorm possible compositions based on scenes in the script. On set the Production Assistant will help with load-ins and load-outs of all equipment and set dressing to and from set, prepare and arrange set dressing under the guidance of the Set Designers, and setup and adjust the studio strobe lights and various lighting modifiers with the help of the director. This position is unpaid, but extremely flexible for fitting around another job. Availability on weekends is a must. Expenses covered. Interested applicants should send a cover letter detailing your relevant experience along with your resume attached in PDF format and any samples or links to samples of your photographic work. .
